Apparently the bracelet, which she's required to wear during her 35 days of house arrest, malfunctioned and went off, sending a fleet of probation officers racing to her house.
When they arrived, they found the starlet on the roof of her apartment building catching some rays and reading scripts -- and watching her 3D TV. No failed escape plot, no adult beverages, nothin'.
Sources told TMZ the bracelet may have "missed a signal," causing it to go off even though the starlet did nothing wrong. Her attorney said (via E! Online ): "Lindsay's electronic monitoring system went off on Monday. When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there. The equipment was replaced the following day."
